Artists' Statement

Born October 17 1960 in Montreal and educated in Montreal. There was a great love of painting in my family. Sunday drives consisted of trips to study the clouds and landscapes. I was taught to look at things carefully. For this alone I am grateful.

At the age of 6 years I attended van Dykhof School of Fine Art.
At the age of 17, I started to assist in teaching children’s classes. I attended educational trips to Europe to study the masters.

In 1993 after the passing of my mother, I started a TV series called “Painting with Rose” I taught techniques painting with oil step by step. I completed 100 shows with CF cable Montréal, which then became Videotron channel 9. What a great experience! On one of the episodes I showed a little miniature portrait I completed, soon after I received a call from an experienced miniature artist. She loved my little painting, she invited me to her home to see her work and introduce me to the art of miniature painting professionally. She gave me the gift of many years of knowledge in one afternoon. I will always be grateful.

I exhibit with the best organizations and have enjoyed every moment. I also have a passion for larger works. I love the sounds of a garden, the smell of an orchard, or a vineyard in spring time. I have a passion for good honest hard-working people. I feel the peacefulness of the garden, and love to be among the grasses. I work the details up close then stand back and finish with brushes up to 38 inches long.
